圣米格尔德阿连德的荒漠绿洲：El Charco del Ingenio 植物园
从圣米格尔德阿连德（San Miguel de Allende）主广场往东走大约20分钟的上坡路，就能抵达一片67公顷的保护区——El Charco del Ingenio。它1960年代还是私人庄园的蓄水池，如今是墨西哥最重要的多肉植物保育地之一，每天9:00到17:00开放，成人门票约100墨西哥比索（约合人民币40元）。
说真的，多数游客来圣米格尔是为了打卡粉红教堂和鹅卵石街道，很少有人知道城东边缘藏着这样一处峡谷植物园。走进去的第一感觉是安静得不像话，风穿过仙人掌林的声音都听得清。
它在哪，怎么去才不折腾
El Charco del Ingenio 位于 Las Colonias 街区上方，地址是 Paloma S/N。从市中心打车约10分钟，花费70到80比索。走路也行，但全程上坡，从市政市场出发大约30分钟，膝盖不好的话建议直接叫车。
打车与免费接驳
最省心的方案是 Uber 或出租车，回程可以让入口处的工作人员代叫车，这点很多人不知道。周二、周四、周六和周日植物园有免费接驳车，9:30 从主广场（Jardín Principal）发车，下午1点返回，座位有限，最好提前到。
自驾与停车
自驾的话从 Querétaro 公路的 Soriana 购物中心路口往北，沿2公里车道开到门口，停车场免费。
园里有什么值得慢慢看
植物园分为三个主要区域：荒漠灌丛、峡谷和湿地。入口处的游客中心可以拿一张纸质地图，路线标识算清楚，但西侧岔路多，容易走错，留个心。
墨西哥植物温室
温室是整座园子的精华，收集了数百种墨西哥本土仙人掌和多肉植物，其中不少是濒危物种，从其他被开发的土地上抢救移植过来。柱状仙人掌能长到两三米高，开花季节在春季，颜色从鹅黄到深红都有。
峡谷与水库步道
沿着步道往下走，能俯瞰 Laja 河切割出的火山岩峡谷，底部就是那座同名的蓄水池。湿地一带是观鸟的好地方，春季能看到长脚鹬和反嘴鹬在水面活动。走完主要步道大约需要2到3小时，如果只走靠近入口的短环线，30到45分钟也够。
雕塑与和平区
园内散落着几件雕塑作品，还立有一块标志，宣布这里为“和平区”。不夸张地说，站在峡谷边缘看日落是圣米格尔最安静的体验之一。
什么时候去，带什么
最佳季节是10月到次年5月的旱季，天气干爽，能见度高。春季仙人掌开花，是拍照的好时机；7月到9月雨季里，水库水位上涨，植被变得葱绿，但路面湿滑，步道部分区域可能封闭。
避暑与防晒
清晨是最佳时段，气温凉爽，人少。园内大部分步道没有遮阴，正午阳光很烈，帽子和水是必带品。
穿着与规则
步道多为土路和石阶，穿徒步鞋或抓地力好的运动鞋。园内禁止携带食物、酒精和宠物，也禁止吸烟。商业拍摄或写生需要提前发邮件申请书面许可，普通游客手机拍照没问题，但别架三脚架搞创作，工作人员会来提醒。

门票多少钱，需要预约吗？
成人一般100墨西哥比索，10岁以下儿童免费，学生、教师和60岁以上老人凭证件可享50比索优惠价。普通散客不需要预约，直接到门口现金购票即可；团队或需要英语导览则建议提前联系。
从市中心走路去靠谱吗？
单程约2公里，全程上坡，步行30分钟左右。体力一般或带小孩的话，建议打车，回程让园方叫车更稳妥。
游览需要留多长时间？
走完主要步道和温室，建议预留2到3小时。如果时间紧，入口附近的短环线30到45分钟也能看到仙人掌和峡谷景观。
园内有餐饮吗？
入口处有简单的咖啡吧和礼品店，只提供饮品和轻食。园内不允许带食物进入，建议出发前在市区吃饱。

I did the visit with an English-speaking guide. This botanical garden just outside San Miguel de Allende is amazing and definitely worth a visit. You'll be surrounded by peace and nature, with stunning views throughout.
Came here one day for a hike around the gardens. My biggest suggestion is to come here as soon as it opens. It gets very hot on the trails in the afternoon. Nice walking trails to see the local cactus and bird watching. Make sure to take water with you while hiking. The most important tip if you take an Uber up to the gardens. I could not get reception on my phone to get an Uber back down to town. You might have to get the person working at the gardens to call a cab. I ended up walking back to town. It is about a half hour hike back to town. If you have mobility issues this is not for you. Overall nice experience at the botanic gardens. Almost entirely of cactus, so not too many other flowers.
We go to the botanical gardens every time we visit SMA! Make sure you go on one of the volunteer led hikes. There are 2 different ones. A nature history hike or bird walk. Luke is fantastic and truly knows his plants and birds. Call or check online for days and times.
Loved it! Incredible birdwatching location! Wish I had been there all day and not just the afternoon, they had to kick us out! Lovely little walking path with shortcuts that feel more like a hike. Great place to enjoy the local biome as well as the body of water which is a small wetland created by a small dam for a now-defunct factory. The water was full of birds, ducks, plovers, black ibis, and some other waterfowl I didn’t identify yet. We saw woodpeckers and a many other bird and lizard species in our brief time. Didn’t have a chance to dig into the museum part but it looked really thoughtful as well!
I was very surprised and very happy that we decided to visit this beautiful site! This is not your typical botanical gardens but rather as very large park with numerous trails for exploring. The variety of plants is huge and the different trails offer views of San Miguel De Allende, the canyon, dam, and plenty of other sites. You can easily spend several hours here as there is so much to see and do. I would highly recommend visiting here when in SMA.
