A Moment of Faith in Puerto Vallarta 🇲🇽⛪ Of all the places I wanted to visit during my first trip to Mexico, none was more important to me than the beautiful Parish of Our Lady of Guadalupe in the heart of Puerto Vallarta. As someone who has been growing deeper in my Christian faith through Eastern Orthodoxy, I've developed a profound appreciation for the history, traditions, sacred art, and reverence found within the ancient Christian churches. Although this is a Roman Catholic church, I felt a beautiful sense of connection through our shared love for Jesus Christ and His blessed mother, the Virgin Mary. Walking through the streets of Puerto Vallarta and seeing that magnificent bell tower rising above the colorful buildings was something special. But nothing could have prepared me for the beauty and peace I experienced when I stepped inside. I came not simply as a tourist or a photographer, but as a Christian seeking a quiet moment with God. I spent some time in prayer, lifting up my beautiful wife and children, my father's health, the people I love, and the many blessings and responsibilities God has entrusted to me. I also prayed for the wonderful people of Mexico, particularly the hardworking members of my culinary team back home, whose culture and heritage I have come to appreciate so much. And then something happened that became the most meaningful part of my visit. As I sat quietly in the church, two sweet ladies began singing hymns to the Lord in Spanish. I didn't understand every word, but I didn't need to. Their voices filled that sacred space with such sincerity, humility, and devotion that I couldn't help but sit there and listen. There was no grand performance, no audience to impress, and nothing elaborate about it. Just two women offering their voices to God. It was one of the most beautiful expressions of faith I've ever had the privilege of witnessing. In that moment, I was reminded that faith transcends language, nationality, and even the differences between our Christian traditions. Whether prayers are spoken in Greek, English, Spanish, or any other language, the love and devotion behind them need no translation. As a photographer, I naturally found myself captivated by the extraordinary architecture, the golden details, the beautiful stained glass, and the magnificent images of Christ and the Virgin Mary. But as a Christian, it was the quiet simplicity of those two women singing that touched me most deeply. I arrived hoping to photograph a beautiful church. I left having experienced something far more beautiful than anything my camera could capture. I will carry that moment with me for a very long time. Glory to God for all things. ❤️

If you’re visiting Puerto Vallarta, Parroquia de Nuestra Señora de Guadalupe is an absolute must-see. ⛪️ The church is stunning, incredibly well maintained, and full of history. The beautiful architecture and intricate details make it one of the city’s most iconic landmarks. Whether you’re religious or simply appreciate history and beautiful buildings, it’s well worth the stop. A peaceful, unforgettable place that should definitely be on your Puerto Vallarta itinerary. 🇲🇽🙏📸

Feels weird to review a church. Very beautiful and worth a visit. However I am not religious so the mass service was not my cup of tea. But very pretty place.

The cathedral was great. Very traditional and beautiful overall. In good central location in zona romantica however, it seems like it's so iconic that it is part of the a lot of the tours - we went to an English mass on Easter Sunday and they dropped off a lot of tourists which was slightly frustrating for people who were there to really attend the service, not for tour reasons (quiet disrespectful to be honest - they would not do this to othere religious temples). Regardless, it's a beautiful church to visit.
