Extremely underrated attraction in the centro historico. The architecture, typewriter museum, and postal exhibits were all amazing, and there was a nice little gift shop too!

Must visit in the city. Beautiful building and thoughtful collections and exhibits. Yes all post office will go out soon in the future but this place could be truly a museum and amazing place to visit for long time.

Hands down the most beautiful post office in the world! The golden ornate columns, sweeping staircases, and incredible art installations inside are stunning. Walking through feels more like visiting a palace museum than a functional postal hub. Highly recommend stepping inside for a quick visit!

The Palacio Postal is one of the most unexpectedly impressive buildings I visited in Mexico City. From the outside it is already beautiful, but the interior is what really makes it worth stopping for. As soon as you walk in, the level of detail is incredible. The grand staircase, dark decorative metalwork, polished stone floors, ornate railings, columns, old service counters, and hanging globe lights make the entire lobby feel more like a palace or historic museum than a functioning post office. I found myself slowing down just to look at the craftsmanship because there is something interesting in practically every direction. One of my favorite things about the building is that it still feels connected to its original purpose. You are not simply walking through a preserved historic shell; you can still see the old postal counters and signs integrated into the architecture. That gives the place much more character than a typical museum. The staircase is probably the visual centerpiece. The ironwork is extremely elaborate, and the symmetry of the stairs and balconies makes for some excellent photographs. The polished floors also reflect the lighting and architectural details, which makes the interior feel even more dramatic in person. I also appreciated that this was an easy stop while walking through the historic center. It is very close to Palacio de Bellas Artes, so it makes perfect sense to visit both while exploring this part of Mexico City. You do not need to dedicate half a day to it; even a relatively short visit gives you plenty to see. What surprised me most was how easy it would be to walk past this place without realizing what is inside. Mexico City has so many famous monuments and huge historic buildings that a post office might not sound like a priority, but this one absolutely should be. If you enjoy architecture, history, photography, or just discovering unusual buildings, do not skip the Palacio Postal. It was easily one of the most beautiful interiors I saw in central Mexico City.

Mexico City has an incredible Postal Museum. If you are somebody who is interested in learning about Mail products and any sort of philatelic hobby and history, come and visit this museum and see rich cultural history and current active postal services that are offered inside. Tickets can be bought inside and bags are to be left at check in.
