梅里达坎顿宫：蒙特霍大道上的玛雅文化宝库

建筑本身：先看懂房子，再看展品
一位将军的私宅
坎顿宫是弗朗西斯科·坎顿·罗萨多将军（General Francisco Cantón Rosado）的住所，他曾任尤卡坦州州长。设计出自意大利建筑师恩里科·德塞蒂（Enrico Deserti）之手，1911年完工。整栋建筑用彩色大理石铺地，天花板有精细的灰泥装饰，楼梯扶手是铸铜的。说真的，光是站在门厅抬头看天花板，就能值回一半票价。
从私宅到博物馆
这栋宅子后来被墨西哥国家人类学与历史研究所（INAH）收购，1966年起正式作为尤卡坦地区人类学博物馆（Museo Regional de Antropología de Yucatán）开放。2024年12月，博物馆在65周年之际新开了一个展厅，专门讲述这栋建筑自身的历史，展出131件与宅邸相关的历史物件。先看这个厅，再逛其他展区，动线会顺很多。
展览怎么看：三层空间与玛雅文物
一层：从殖民时期到独立
一层展厅按时间线铺开，从西班牙殖民前的美洲大陆讲起，过渡到殖民时期尤卡坦的社会结构。有几件来自奇琴伊察（Chichén Itzá）和乌斯马尔（Uxmal）的石雕构件，体量不大，但细节清楚。展厅光线偏暗，拍照时记得关掉闪光灯——馆内对电子设备拍摄有规定，录像需要额外支付45比索。
二层：玛雅文化的核心展区
二层是重头戏。陶器、玉饰、祭祀用刀、骨器按主题排列，标签是西班牙语，部分展柜配有二维码，扫码可以看英文翻译。至少留出40分钟给这一层，否则只能走马观花。有一组来自尤卡坦北部洞穴的祭祀陶偶，尺寸小到需要凑近玻璃看，但表情和服饰细节保存得相当完整。
地下层：临时展览与教育空间
地下层常设一个临时展厅，不时更换主题展。1959年12月17日，尤卡坦第一个考古博物馆就诞生在这栋楼的地下室里，如今这个空间被重新利用。如果碰上有特展，多花20分钟不亏。
实用信息：交通、门票与游览节奏
怎么去
从梅里达主广场（Plaza Grande）沿60街向北走，到蒙特霍大道右转，步行约20分钟。不想走的话，公交115路、185路、188路都经过附近，在“Museo Regional de Antropología e Historia Palacio G. Cantón”站下车，步行1分钟即到。打车从中心区过来大约50到70比索，看时段。
门票与开放时间
外国成人100比索，墨西哥公民凭证件有优惠。12岁以下儿童、学生、教师和老年人凭有效证件免费。周日对所有墨西哥公民免费，外国游客不适用。开放时间为周二至周日8:00至17:00，周一闭馆。不需要提前预约，直接到售票窗口买票即可。
逛多久合适
走马观花45分钟够用，认真看展加拍照建议留1.5到2小时。周五上午11点常有导览团，时长约1.5小时，英语和西班牙语都有，人数限制10人， included在门票里，想参加的话提前10分钟到入口处等。
最佳时段与周边组合
工作日上午10点前人流最少，光线也适合拍建筑外观。周末下午家庭游客多，展厅里会吵一些。逛完坎顿宫，沿着蒙特霍大道往北走，两侧还有几栋同时期的豪宅可以看外观，比如双宅（Casas Gemelas）。往南走回中心区，顺路可以去大教堂和主广场。把坎顿宫安排在上午，下午去大教堂，节奏比较舒服。

坎顿宫周一开门吗？
不开。开放时间为周二至周日8:00至17:00，周一全天闭馆。最后入场时间通常在16:30左右，建议不要卡着关门前半小时到。
门票多少钱？需要预约吗？
外国成人100比索，约合5美元。12岁以下儿童、持证学生和老年人免费。不需要预约，现场购票直接进。周日对墨西哥公民免费，外国游客仍需购票。
馆内可以拍照吗？
可以拍照，但禁止使用闪光灯。录像需要额外支付45比索的拍摄许可费。部分特展可能单独规定，进厅前留意门口标识。

Visited August 1 2026. I really enjoyed the way the museum explained culture as it pertained to trade, geography, resources etc. The value is in the written explanations and the artifacts are there to provide some interest, so don't skip the written stuff. It's well done. The staff were knowledgeable, helpful and very friendly. My daughter got sick and they were incredibly nice and helpful during that time.
Beautiful Meusem with amazing artifacts from the Mayan culture. It mainly focuses on showcasing artifacts such as pots, plates, and figures depicting Mayan gods. It also showcases the cast and complexity of the ancient Mayan trade route. A major plus is that the Meusem is an old home Francisco Canton which was beautifully crafted and a marvel to look at as well. The second floor was quite hot though since it is an old palace and there isn't much air conditioning up there. But nonetheless it's definitely a must see.
Very well worth the time. It’s informative, comfortable, and well laid out. Some plaques are in english but most are in spanish with a QRCode to read in english. The collection is lovely and we learned about Mérida as well as the mansion that houses the museum. It was a lovely walk from our motel and we enjoyed it very much.
Amazing experience and very pretty building. There are QR codes that guests can scan for the English language option. Apparently, some displays are switched out from time to time, so you can see different artifacts and collections tickets are cheap, and if you have a resident card, they are even cheaper.
As others have said, there are little to no explanations in English or other languages so you're pretty much on your own. It's a great museum that's not too expensive, entrance fees are $95 pesos per person. There's no parking inside only on the street so you'll need to go around a few times to find a spot. Lots of really cool things to see in this museum and didn't really encounter the curmudgeon up front that many reviewers were talking about.
