埃及卢克索孟农神像：18米巨石像背后的消失神庙与啼鸣传说
去卢克索西岸看帝王谷的路上，没人能错过路边那两座高达18米的巨型石像。这就是孟农神像（Colossi of Memnon），两尊跨越了3300多年历史的阿蒙霍特普三世坐像。即便它们如今面目模糊，躯体因为风化和人为破坏显得有些破败，但那种顶天立地的压迫感依然会让路过的每一个旅行者停车驻足。很多匆忙的旅游团只在这里停10分钟拍个打卡照就走，其实这片看似荒芜的空地背后，藏着埃及历史上规模最宏大的葬祭殿遗址以及一段骗了古罗马人几百年的“啼鸣”神话。

我们现在看到的这两座各重约720吨的巨石像，其实只是当年一座极其宏伟建筑的“看门大爷”。在公元前1350年左右，这两尊神像守卫的是法老阿蒙霍特普三世（Amenhotep III）的葬祭殿。说起这座神庙，规模大到令人咋舌，占地面积约35公顷，比现在的卡纳克神庙还要宏大。可惜由于选址离尼罗河太近，神庙地基长期受河水冲刷，加上后期法老为了盖自己的庙过来“拆迁”石料，导致整座神庙基本消失在了历史尘埃里，只剩下这两尊守门神像像钉子户一样死死钉在原地。
石料背后的硬核运输史
仔细观察你会发现，这两座石像的材质并不是普通的石灰岩，而是坚硬的石英岩砂岩。根据地质学家的考证，这些石料并非就地取材，而是从开罗附近的红色山丘（el-Gabal el-Ahmar）开采，然后逆流而上运输了将近700公里才到达卢克索。在没有任何现代起重设备的年代，古埃及人把单体700多吨的巨石运过大半个埃及并精准矗立，这种工程强度即便放在今天也算是个不大不小的奇迹。神像底座侧面刻着象征上下埃及统一的尼罗河神哈比（Hapy）图案，这是典型的法老王权宣示，即便神像脸部已经损毁，这种威严感依然顺着底座的线条传递出来。

孟农神像之所以出名，除了个头大，最玄乎的就是它曾经“会唱歌”。公元前27年，卢克索发生了一场大地震，北侧的那尊石像被震裂了，从腰部以上严重损毁。奇妙的事情随之发生，此后的几百年里，每当清晨太阳升起、气温回升时，石像就会发出一阵阵凄美、高亢的声音。古希腊人和古罗马人听到后，觉得这简直是神迹，于是根据希腊神话把石像认作是黎明女神之子孟农（Memnon），认为这是他在清晨向母亲哭诉。这种说法越传越广，甚至成了当时罗马帝国高官显贵们来埃及旅游的必看项目。

关于石像为什么会响，现代科学给出了很直白的解释：由于地震造成的裂缝和石材的多孔性质，清晨露水蒸发加上温差导致的空气流动，在裂缝中产生了类似排箫的物理共振。可惜到了公元199年左右，罗马皇帝塞维鲁（Septimius Severus）出于好心，想要修复这座受损的神像，结果弄巧成拙。他用大石块补好了裂缝，石像的结构变了，那种清晨的“啼鸣声”也就彻底消失了。现在你站在这里，除了风声和远处农田的狗叫，再也听不到那个流传了两个世纪的神秘声响，只能在神像腿部那些古罗马游客留下的几十处“到此一游”刻字中寻找当年的盛况。

门票交通与参观时机
说件让旅行者最高兴的事，孟农神像目前是完全免费开放的，它就在路边，没有围墙，不收门票。如果你打算去西岸的帝王谷（Valley of the Kings）或者哈布城（Medinet Habu），车子一定会经过这里。交通方面，从卢克索东岸坐当地渡轮（只要几埃镑）到西岸，然后花50到80埃镑打个车，或者干脆花个30埃镑租辆自行车骑过来也就20分钟。至于参观时间，强烈建议早上7点之前到。这时候旅游大巴还没把这块空地填满，而且清晨的侧逆光打在石像粗糙的质感上，拍照特别有厚重感，最重要的是避开了西岸下午那能把人烤干的40度高温。
拍照位与周边小众探索
大部分人只会在正面台阶上拍一张。其实你往北侧绕到石像后面，能看到阿蒙霍特普三世神庙正在进行中的考古挖掘现场。最近几年考古学家又从地底下挖出了很多小型的狮头神像和法老像，这些新出土的宝贝就散落在后面的工地上。如果你有卢克索通行证（Luxor Pass），可以顺道去看看周边的贵族墓或者拉美西斯三世神庙。别忘了留意神像脚下的小人像，那是阿蒙霍特普三世的母亲和妻子，虽然比例比法老小得多，但雕工非常细腻，那是古埃及第十八王朝艺术巅峰的体现。

Located right besides the main road, enroute the valley of kings/queens and Hatsheput temple - this is a hard to miss site of conservation work. There is no entry ticket for this site, so can be visited anytime of the day/night. Also the hot air balloon site is very close so as the dawn breaks one can see many hot air balloons in the horizon. Great place to see the statues on the sunrise with no entrance fee. Cheap souvenirs nearby. An ATM in 50m. There is nothing more to see, so it will take you about 5-10 min to visit
