在赞比亚北部省，占地约1500平方公里的拉武希曼达国家公园占据着一片独特的地形。它坐落在穆钦加悬崖（Muchinga Escarpment）与广阔的班韦乌卢（Bangweulu）沼泽平原之间，其核心景观是壮丽的拉武希山脉（Lavushi Mountains）。这条长达40公里的古老石英岩山脉，最高点超过海拔1800米，形成了显著的地貌对比：高耸的山脊陡然沉降，下方是覆盖着典型米奥姆博林地（miombo woodland）的幽深山谷、滋养着湿草地（当地称为dambos）的洼地，以及沿着常年流淌的卢库卢河（Lukulu River）、卢利马拉河（Lulimala River）等水道分布的郁郁葱葱的河岸森林。
尽管历史上因盗猎导致野生动物数量曾大幅减少，拉武希曼达的生态系统正在恢复活力。公园内现在栖息着分散的貂羚（sable）、马羚（roan antelope）、苇羚（reedbuck）、水羚（puku）、疣猪（warthog）、野猪（bushpig）等种群，河流沿线还能发现河马（hippos）和鳄鱼（crocodiles）的身影。更隐秘的是，相机陷阱记录下了豹（leopard）、土豚（aardvark）、非洲麝猫（civet）和薮猫（serval）等行踪难觅的食肉动物。自2001年起，这里就被认定为重要鸟类区（Important Bird Area），拥有超过270种记录在册的鸟类。其多样的环境——从岩石嶙峋的山脊、河岸森林到湿润的草地——为许多鸟类提供了家园，包括依赖米奥姆博林的专有种、棕榈果秃鹫（Palm-nut Vulture）、非洲鳍足鸟（African Finfoot），甚至是罕见的巨沙锥（Great Snipe），使其成为鸟类观察者的兴趣所在。

Lavushi Manda is pristinely beautiful and tranquil. Making a trip should include visiting the African Parks Bangweulu Wetlands Project Chikuni and Shoebill camp sites. I will visit again very soon and take some friends and family too. Great efforts in conserving the forest resources and Wetlands ecosystems. The home of the Black Lechwe and Shoebill.
