恩帕凯火山口位于坦桑尼亚恩戈罗恩戈罗区的Naiyobi地区，是一个形成于火山塌陷的巨大火山口。火山口直径约6公里，深约300米，底部约有四分之三被碱性湖水覆盖，湖深可达85米。由于地势高峻，西缘海拔达3200米，东缘为2590米，火山口常年被薄雾笼罩，湖水在不同光线下呈现出翠绿或深蓝色。恩帕凯属于火山高地带，是联合国教科文组织生物圈保护区的一部分，由恩戈罗恩戈罗保护区管理局负责管辖。
从火山口边缘可远眺奥多因约冷盖伊火山、乞力马扎罗山及大裂谷地貌，是徒步旅行者喜爱的路线之一。火山口内部和湖岸周边覆盖着森林，生态系统保持良好，可观察到蓝猴、水羚、林羚、非洲水牛，以及胡兀鹫、黑翅鸢等猛禽。相比更为人熟知的恩戈罗恩戈罗火山口，这里游人较少，适合对东非火山地貌和高原生态感兴趣的旅行者深入探索。火山口边缘设有两个简易营地，便于多日徒步行程中停留。

Off the main tourist safari routes, this lake can be accessed via ranger on a trail with a walk of about 45 minutes downhill. Route for medium fit people. The path is surrounded by vegetation that makes you feel like you are inside a jungle

Nature has always been the best here as it is a conservation area. The camping sites are still full of natural silence and rangers are available when needed. The views are stunning as you can see! I definetely recommend this area for soul refreshment.
