达洛山位于索马里兰东部的萨那格地区，是奥戈山脉的一部分，具有重要的历史意义，曾是许多索马里部落祖先的栖息地。山脉从海岸平原陡然升起，至石灰岩悬崖，山顶年平均降水量约为650毫米。该地区拥有密集的古老森林，其中一些树木已有1000多年历史，且植物种类丰富，许多具有药用价值。达洛山被列为重要鸟类栖息地，栖息着如瓦尔桑格利雀和索科特拉金翅雀等鸟类，以及像长颈羚、索马里野驴和贝拉羚等哺乳动物。
