一、东察沃国家公园简介
位于肯尼亚东南部的东察沃国家公园（Tsavo East National Park）是该国面积最大的自然保护区之一，覆盖约 13,747 平方公里。
公园地貌以广阔的半旱草原、红色土质的平原地面为主，特色包括 Yatta 熔岩流这一世界最长的古老岩层，以及 Galana ／ Athi 两条河流穿行其间。
其历史亦颇具故事性：曾是铁路建设时期“食人狮”（The Man‑Eaters of Tsavo）事件发生地，后来于1948年被正式列为国家公园。
二、野生动物与生态亮点
东察沃的野生动物群体特别丰富：这里最具标志性的，是覆盖红色尘土后的大象群，被称作“红土大象”。
此外，狮子、角马、长颈羚（gerenuk）、Somali 鸵鸟等也在这里可见，而鸟类种类超过500 种。
生态方面，这片土地不仅处于北部与南部动物种群交汇处，也因为地形较为开阔、植被较稀疏，野生动物观测的机率更高。

如何前往与交通
从首都内罗毕（Nairobi）或海岸城市蒙巴萨（Mombasa）出发皆可，到达方式包括公路或包机。入口通常为 Voi 门、Manyani 门等。
最佳访问时间与气候
干季（如6 月至10 月）通常是最佳游览时期，此时植被短、动物更易发现。湿季虽景色更绿，却可能因植被高、视线差而影响观赏。
活动与住宿推荐
- 主要活动包括 4×4 游猎车探索草原、观鸟、摄影。
- 住宿从帐篷营地到豪华营地都有，例如 Galdessa、Satao 营地备受推荐。

We took a shore excursion organized by a Cruise line to visit the park. The road from the port to the national park is really bad with terrible traffic even early in the morning. The weather was cool and cloudy, unfortunately we didn't get the chance to see all the big 5. Just wish that we could have more time in the park!

It's unimaginable how big Tsavo is. Our guide said it was about 11,000m². There are an incredible number of animals that you see on TV, but live it's a completely different feeling. Unfortunately we weren't able to photograph a lot of what we saw because we didn't have the equipment, but it's enough to remember everything.

We had a great time in this park. It had rained a lot, so there were a lot of bushes which made it harder to spot animals. Still we managed to see a lot of lions, a leopard and lots of elephants, giraffes, zebras and other animals. Thanks to our good guides Steven and Jimmy.
