horrible. only beggars and people who want to sell you flowers and photos, they don't respect rejection and whine until you hate your life, I couldn't even walk quietly with my husband on the bridge and enjoy the view.

Visited 7 October 2022 Another free site to see in Cairo. Walked to the most famous bridge over the River Nile in Cairo from Tahrir Square as it only a five minute walk. Some great views of the city and the Nile can be seen from either end of the bridge as well as in the middle where you can really see how fast the current of the Nile is. The most famous part of the bridge are the four large bronze lion sculptures which guard each end of the bridge. It is very popular with locals and tourists alike. This bridge, sometimes referred to as Kasr El Nil bridge was opened in 1933 by King Fouad and was originally called the Khedive Ismail Bridge in honour of his father. This was changed after the revolution that brought Nasser to power. Interestingly the company that built this bridge was also constructing the Sydney Harbour Bridge at the same time.

Went to the bridge at night. All the buildings around are beautifully lit up. Just a nice evening on the bridge across the Nile. Lively yet perfectly safe. This should be on your list when visiting Cairo

This is the very old bridge in the city of Cairo this is a beautiful Bridge where you will see two lions each side at both ends of the bridge. it is a beautiful bridge and you can spend time on the bridge on the path area and enjoy the scene of Nile.
