  The Cathedrale Sacre Coeur is the church serving the Grande Bassam community and is open daily for services and also for confessions. On the outside stands The small chapel as a shrine to the Blessed Virgen Mary. Two sections of candles frame the shrine where one can offer a prayer, a petition, and give gratitude. Some candles were lit but there were no additional candles to light I just made a donation and said a prayer

  I could tell just by the architecture that it was a historical church. It’s a reflection of France and the Roman Catholic Church’s influence in Côte d’Ivoire. One of the historical places one should see when in Grand Bassam.
